Dr Sloan is excited to offer CBT to patients who are suffering with perimenopause and menopause symptoms. CBT is a form of psychotherapy which can help us understand the links between our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, physical symotoms and come up with practical useable solutions or strategies to help us cope. CBT has been shown in studies to reduce the impact of night sweats and hot flushes. CBT can reduce levels of anxiety and improve sleep.
It is particularly useful for women who can not take hormone therapy or who do not wish to. For example those who have cancer who are sensitive to the side effects of hormones.
